This 9-day journey will take us to experience the great waters of the Moconá Falls on the Uruguay River, the Yabotí Biosphere Reserve, and the magnificent Iguazú Falls from both the Argentine and Brazilian sides.

Travel itinerary
We depart from Tres Cruces in the morning, heading for Santana do Livramento via Route 5 North; after completing immigration formalities, we will check in to rest.
We will set out early in the morning to continue our journey through Brazilian territory toward the Puerto Mauá border crossing with Argentina. There, we will experience crossing the Uruguay River by ferry. Afterward, we will continue along Provincial Route 2 to El Soberbio, in the province of Misiones, where we will stay.
Today we will visit Moconá Provincial Park and, water conditions permitting, take a boat tour of the falls on the Uruguay River. In the Guaraní language, “Moconá” roughly translates to “swallower.” Along a stretch of more than 3,000 meters, the water plunges lengthwise from a height of over ten meters into the lower riverbed of the Uruguay River. We are staying in El Soberbio, on the banks of the Uruguay River.
After breakfast, we continue our journey through Misiones province toward the Wanda Mines, where we will take a guided tour to learn about semi-precious stone mining and enjoy a hearty buffet lunch. Along the route, we will see yerba mate processing plants, tea plantations, tobacco drying facilities, citronella plantations, and numerous timber drying yards.
We continue our journey towards the border with Brazil, to re-enter Brazilian territory and stay in Foz do Iguaçu.
We’ll enjoy a visit to Iguazu Falls from the Brazilian side. You’ll have time for optional excursions such as a visit to the Bird Park or a helicopter tour to admire the falls. We’ll then continue our stay in Foz do Iguaçu.
We returned to Argentina to visit the Iguazu Falls on the Argentinian side, with its many trails that will allow us to have a new vision of the magnificent falls and stay in Puerto Iguazu.
Today we leave the Falls behind and head towards San Ignacio, a city where we will visit the famous Jesuit reductions of San Ignacio Miní and the house of the Uruguayan writer Horacio Quiroga. We are staying here.
Optional: visit the ruins at night to see the light and sound show.
After breakfast, we’ll begin our return journey to Uruguay, but not before taking some time to rest and relax. We’ll stay at Termas del Daymán in Salto for two nights to rest and enjoy the hot springs.
We’ll have this day off to relax and enjoy the hot springs that this destination offers.
We’ll have the morning free to continue enjoying ourselves. Around midday, after checkout, we’ll begin our return to Montevideo.
